- The Chromebook is a laptop that uses its own unique operating system Chrome OS. The google play store is available on most Chromebooks, but due to the restrictions of the Chrome OS, Cricut Design Space is not available on a Chromebook. The Cricut Design Space Cannot be used OFFLINE with the Android App.
- Link your Cricut to your Chromebook! Android Apps result in the impossible feasible (like connecting a Cricut cutting machine up to a Chromebook) A few weeks hence i needed to operate on a task that needed a plastic cutter (always check my Instagram account fully for a few examples!).

Android os Apps result in the impossible feasible (like connecting a Cricut cutting machine to a Chromebook)
A weeks that are few i desired be effective on a task that needed a plastic cutter (check always my Instagram take into account some situations!).
My sibling in legislation does all sorts of crafty things having a Cricut cutting machine, therefore I started initially to research getting one, benefiting from some great black-friday product product sales.
The difficulty: I just make use of Chromebook plus it didn’t appear to be the Cricut would utilize ChromeOS. At minimum that’s what it stated on the internet site:
Crucial: Design area just isn't appropriate for Chromebooks, or Unix/Linux Computers.
Android os Apps: the perfect solution is I happened to be looking
Design area, the program utilized to keep in touch with the Cricut cutter, is just readily available for Mac and Computer. It can, nowever have actually A android os App.
We quickly started within the Bing Enjoy Store on my Chromebook to see if i really could install the style area Android os App.
Note: simply because A android application exisists, does not suggest it shall be appropriate for your Chromebook. Constantly make sure to see when you can set it up in your Chromebook.
As expected, the software ended up being appropriate!
Once more, most of the articles and videos we viewed stated I ignored them and bought one anyway that I wouldn’t be able to connect a Cricut cutter to my Chromebook, but!
Note: the Cricut was bought by me Air 2 (in black colored, needless to say), but any Cricut model should work fine together with your Chromebook.
I’ve never used the desktop variation of Design area, but I’m pretty certain that the Android os software is simplified.
You might find the Android app restrictive when compared with the desktop version if you are a veteran Cricut user. For somebody it works great and does everything I need it to do like me, who has never used the “regular” version!
We have connected my Cricut to multple Chromebooks including the HP x360 therefore the Samsung Chromebook professional. As they both ongoing work nicely, any Android-compatible Chromebook should work fine.
Suggestion: to determine should your chromebook is Android-compatible, check this list.
The way I connected my Chromebook to a Cricut Cutting Machine
After a brief 2-day delay ( many thanks Amazon!) we pulled my Cricut from the packaging and attempted to link it to my Chromebook.
Here you will find the particular actions we used for connecting my Cricut to my Chromebook:
1. Down load the Design area application through the Bing Enjoy shop.
2. Start the application and sign in / create a merchant account Note: the very first time I started the software it took a bit to load. Allow it to stay for the couple of minutes if it does not arrive straight away.
Suggestion: The green switch into the image below says “machine set up”, but we don’t suggest utilizing it.” Click “sign in” and utilizing your current account or producing a brand brand new one. We’ll connect your unit within the step that is next.
3. Switch on your Cricut cutter
The cutter should be on to ensure that it to broadcast a signal that is bluetooth your Chromebook to get.
4. Start the operational system launcher on the chromebook (for example. Click the right time) and choose Bluetooth.
5. Your Cricut cutter should come in the Bluetooth menu. Choose it for connecting it to your unit.
Suggestion: the first occasion you connect your Cricut cutter to your Chromebook you are prompted to enter A pin rule. The default code is 0000. That should work unless you have changed it!
6. Make a task in Design area.
You will be prompted to select your Cricut (it should already be connected), and now you are ready to cut when you get to the “make” screen!
Is Cricut Compatible With Chromebook
Android Apps create your Chromebook better!
I would prefer to use a web application over a mobile app if I have the option.
Online apps are faster, smoother, and much more reliable for a Chromebook than Android os Applications.
That said, getting the choice to dip to the Bing Enjoy shop to gain access to tools that DON’T have the full highlighted internet application is really an option that is nice!
Therefore yes, you can easily connect your Cricut cutting machine to a Chromebook as a result of the style Space Android os software!

Will Cricut Work With Chromebook Windows 10
Cricut Design Space on your Chromebook
As a budget computer, the Chromebook is a popular choice. Unfortunately, until now it has not been possible to run Cricut Design Space on these machines as they are not compatible. Cricut Design Space is designed for both Windows and Mac computers and there are companion apps on both iOS and Android platforms. NOTE – these are the SUPPORTED and preferred platforms!
With the latest updates to ChromeOS, it is now possible to run Android applications on your Chromebook. While this is not native support for ChromeOS it does allow those with Chromebooks to install the Cricut Design Space application and work on their designs. The beauty of this solution is that depending on what Chromebook you have, you'll be able to work on a larger screen and utilize a keyboard and mouse!
The downside of this solution is the reality that this is the Android version of Cricut Design Space and to date, this is not on feature parity with the Windows, Mac or iOS versions.
These are the steps to get Cricut Design Space working on your Chromebook, hope you find this useful!
Compatibility
Cricut Design Space via the Android app is made possible as Google has now enabled the ability to use Google Play Store and apps on your Chromebook.
